royal_galleries_st_hubertAn impressive glazed shopping arcade with a sublime architecture that dates back to 1847. Shops from Mer du Nord, Kaat Tilley, Longchamps, Delvaux, Godiva, Neuhaus and many more.  Aside from the shops, it also houses keynote cultural venues such as the ”Théâtre des Galeries” with a Magritte fresco on the ceiling and the “Théâtre du Vaudeville”.

Tour & Taxis – a runner up

At the heart of the site, which during the last century acted as the central hub for the transits of goods through customs, the Entrepôt Royal is now home to several offices. Constantly gaining in popularity the shopping gallery that crosses the Entrepôt Royal, over 180 metres long, is set to become a popular area for high-class shopping, dining and ‘to be seen’ in one of the trendy restaurants or bars.

The Marolles

While you do still see washing lines strung between buildings, the Marolles is now a mix of shabby shops, gentrified antique boutiques and interior design palaces. The two main arteries are the Rue Haute and Rue Blaes. Midway along Rue Blaes is place du Jeu de Balle. Marolles’ epicentre where daily flea market is surrounded by earthy bars and cafés. Tip: take the public lift next to the Palais de Justice down to the Marolles.

St-Géry & Ste Catherine

Restaurants, bars and churches are the key features of sassy St-Géry and former quayside Ste-Catherine.

Avenue Louise and Boulevard de Waterloo

Boutiques of big names like MaxMara, Yves St Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Hermes, Bulgari can be found on these two wide tree-lined boulevards. On the southern side of the boulevard de Waterloo, called Avenue de la Toison d’Or, houses a little more mid-range shops. The 3 galleries that run off the avenue are all linked to each other and host a mix of high-street and designer labels shops.
