From 23 March until 1 April, Eurantica Brussels – fine art fair, welcomes you for a new edition. For 10 days, packed with professional and cultural meetings, the Brussels exhibition centre, well-known for its eclectic, contemporary character, will display a selection of 120 Belgian and foreign galleries.

Thanks to its very situation and status as “Europe’s capital”, Brussels makes Eurantica a truly outstanding European exhibition – the event to attend.

Focus on Vintage Design

This year, Eurantica Brussels offers a special place to XXth century design, which is gaining importance amongst amateurs and collectors of art and antiquities. This year, the fair will have its own « Vintage Design Area » that will throw light upon a selection of pieces from that domain.

The expo-event Art Truc Troc, organised by the cultural council Wolu-Culture in collaboration with Artdynamik and in co-presentation with Bozar, will take place on the 27th, 28th & 29th of January 2012.

Truc Troc has a unique and original concept. During the exhibition, visitors are invited to barter items, services, materials, travels or any other proposal that may suit the artist in exchange of a work of art. So there is no question of money!

The visitor once seduced by a work, will write its barter and its coordinates on a post-it that he will place next to the work. The artist can then choose to contact him or not. There will be over 300 various artists who will come and trade their art pieces in an exhibition room of over 1600 m². The list of the exhibitors is available on www.tructroc.be.

History

The first Truc Troc was inaugurated in 1975 by the artists My Rijck and Charline Mahy at Chateau Malou (Woluwe-Saint-Lambert). Thirty years later, this unusual event is recreated at Bozar, and since then, the Cultural Center Wolu-Culture assumes the role of curator of this exhibition.
